One of two hand painted canvases referencing famous Margaret Keane works of big eyed children. These are not prints, but vintage studies in which the artist reproduced the figures but expanded the backgrounds. Really competently painted and so much more fun than displaying a print! The artist has signed them E Stevenson, and it makes me wonder if they weren’t done by Esther Seymour Stevenson, who herself painted lovely portraits of children.
This is a reproduction of Keane’s 1962 “Rejected”. Size is 10” x 14”. Acrylic on canvas board. Signed lower left. Wood frame. Original twine /thumbtacks hanging system. No condition issues. Smoke free storage. .
